Favorite Foods for Holiday Entertaining


Drexelbrook Catering & Events, the off-site division of Drexelbrook has the privilege of providing our services to many residences through-out Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. We are honored to be hired to work for some of the nicest people who want to provide a great holiday gathering for their family and friends.

One question we often encounter when menu planning is "What are the most popular food station offerings?" The easy answer to this is "comfort foods" that are visually appealing, have an irrestible aroma and taste great. Two of the most popular in 2012 are first the Braised Short Ribs with a combo of vegetable and starch. In our case sautéed Bok Choy and a Celery Root Yukon Gold Potato Mixture. We utilized Winter Ale from Sam Adams Brewing Company and made a reduction with caramelized Shallots. Second is a Petit Tender and Seared Sea Scallop cooked on a Himalayan Salt Block. Nothing enhances the flavor of foods better than pure Himalayan Salt. They are easy to work cook with, maintain and create a real buzz among guests. The blocks make a great gift for that home chef or work great on a grill in the summer.
