Saved The Wedding Day

In our many years in the Catering and Hospitality Industry August 8th, 2010 will always be remembered by us as a first occurrence and historic day. It was 2:30 PM on a Friday after that we first received a call from the parents of Lauren & Steve asking if we were able to assist with their wedding at Ridley Creek State Park.  When we inquired into the day they informed us it was 5:30 PM that day. After a brief meeting with our Culinary & Operations team we agreed to assist. We were then informed of the minor detail. The Groom is vegan, the Bride vegetarian, and they want a vegetarian menu with vegan options but would settle for anything and at this point in the day they were about to order pizza. Since details are everything to Drexelbrook Catering we agreed and the culinary team began working. Here is the recent review from the Mother of the Bride that appeared on The Knot:
"My son and his bride were scheduled to be married at Ridley Creek State Park in Media PA. The caterer was scheduled to begin setting up at 9 am. When my son arrived at noon there was no caterer. After a phone call the caterer informed the bride that he wrote down the wrong day and that there was nothing he could do for them, not even come and set the tables. Three hours before the wedding we had no table clothes, dishes, glasses, food--nothing, with about 100 guest scheduled to arrive. We called Drexelbrook. By 5:30 we had a bartender, appetizers--hot and cold, waitstaff and after a cocktail hour we went in to a beautifully set dining room with a complete buffet of vegetarian food. the evening went perfectly. Everyone from Drexelbrook was very professional. I cannot thank Gene and the staff of Drexelbrook enough for what they did for us. I highly, highly recommend them to anyone who wants a professional, well run wedding reception. Any by the way, the food was delicious, we received a lot of complements on it."
Upon hanging up the phone the operations team began loading a truck, organizing and calling staff and developing a plan to give Lauren & Steve the Wedding Reception of their dreams. The first team left shortly after with linens and supplies and arrived shortly after 4:00PM. The Second team with all the food was shortly behind them. at 5:30PM we welcomed the guests for cocktails and appetizers. At 6:30 PM the guests were welcomed into the main dining room for a vegetarian dinner with vegan options (details are everything). Drexelbrook Catering once again showed what an incredible team can accomplish. To see Lauren smiling after such an emotional day was such a reward and the pride that the entire Drexelbrook Team took in helping Lauren and Steve was incredible. This day was only possible due to the teamwork of every department and department within Drexelbrook.  Our best wishes to Lauren & Steve! Many thanks to Carly's Linens for passing our name onto this incredible couple in need.
